Disney Officially Becomes A Software Company With Launch Of Disney+ Streaming Service

November 12, 2019 is an important day for multimedia. That’s because that will be the day which will live on in infamy as the day in which the Walt Disney Company officially went from media conglomerate to software company. And just like when Disney World opened on October 1, 1971, the new streaming service that pundits say will rival Netflix and other streaming services is already dealing with latency issues and glitches just like every great software does when it first debuts (I’m still convinced Windows 98 was just a glitch and nothing more).

Make no mistake, Disney+ makes Disney a software company first and a media company second. Along with the responsibility of dealing with theme parks, merchandise, multiple TV channels, and everything else, the company now has to make sure their streaming service NEVER shuts down or disconnects. And the content? Features. Whether or not you’re The Simpsons, Marvel’s What If?, or a 12-minute teaser mini-doc that showcases what’s to come, these are merely just features to make sure YOU stay subscribed. It’s gonna work, Disney has too many valuable franchises at its disposal that they spent and made a lot of money on.

Alright, time to go watch The Simpsons.
