Crunchyroll Announces Deal With Webtoon
Webtoon was always one of those panels at any Comic-Con that I would put last on my things to do, but if this keeps up, I’m going to have to start attending. Only a week after announcing that they have a new animated series in development, the online comic producer has a new deal in place announced with Crunchyroll where they will be supplying intellectual property that would then be produced for animated series.
Our Take
There are so many places Crunchyroll could place animated series, but let’s table that for now. The anime service has really turned into a multi-faceted producer over the last year or so. The company has been known to sponsor animated Youtube series, host streaming services including Crunchyroll and VRV, and have upcoming series with both Adult Swim and now Webtoon. The Webtoon IP could potentially show up in any one of these locations, which could be a swoon in new original content that has existing fanbases.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
