A History of “The Simpsons” in Video Games
The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror

Developer: Software Creations
Publisher: THQ
Platforms: Game Boy Color
Release Date: March 2001
The last side-scrolling platformer with a Simpsons title for the console was released for the Game Boy Color in 2001. Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror includes seven levels and all members of the Simpsons family as playable characters. Each level is based off a segment of the shows Treehouse of Horrors series such as If I Only Had a Brain from “Treehouse of Horror II” and King Homer from “Treehouse of Horror III”. The game was a quality side-scroller of its generation and received positive reviews for its humour and detail.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
