Netflix To Get WW Rights To “Bubbles”
We also throw in an ode to Chris Cornell, who passed away at the age of 52.
Starburns Industries’ Bubbles is reportedly about to get a $20 million deal for worldwide distro rights via streaming service Netflix.
For those that don’t recall, Bubbles is an upcoming stop-motion animated film that will be similar to Anomalisa in terms of presentation, however, it hasn’t been reported if the film will feature a story geared to a similar age group or if the producers are going towards a family-friendly take as the film deals with the story of Michael Jackson as told via the perspective of his monkey, “Bubbles”.
In any event, this is a MUCH better deal than what Starburns got for Anomalisa which had to be produced via a successful Kickstarter campaign until it was picked up by Paramount Pictures for distribution. Isaac Adamson wrote the script. And according to THR, End Cue’s Andrew Kortschak and Walter Kortshak will produce with Dan Harmon’s Starburns Industries, while Isaac Adamson and Lee Stobby will executive produce.
In honor of Chris Cornell’s passing, let’s hear him cover Jackson’s “Billie Jean”.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
