Review: Bob’s Burgers “A Few ‘Gurt Men”
It doesn’t matter when this show airs, it’s usually good.
Spoilers Below
The Belcher children are participating in a mock trial at school. Gene is the prosecutor, Louise is the defense attorney, and Tina is a juror. Their case is the story of Snow White. Louise has to defend the Evil Queen against Snow White’s apple accusations. But Louise knows that she is on the losing side. Everyone knows the story of Snow White AND her client’s first name is Evil! There is no way she can win. Just as their trial is ending, the students overhear an argument in the hallway. Mr. Ambrose is accusing Mr. Frond of stealing his yogurt from the teachers’ lounge. It is decided that the mock trial will take the case. Gene will be the prosecutor again and Louise will defend Mr. Frond. At first, Louise doesn’t want the job and admittedly phones it in. But when she realizes that Mr. Frond is actually innocent, she takes the case seriously. She does an amazing job and finds the actual culprit. Mr. Frond is saved!
As the kids are learning about the justice system, Bob finds himself a victim of a restaurant scammer. This guy goes around putting his own hair in his food in order to get it for free. When he sees Jimmy Pesto is also a victim, Bob gets everyone together to get revenge on the man. The group uses Mort’s mother’s birthday party to hire the man, who happens to be a celebrity impersonator. Their plan is to make him perform but then not pay him when he is finished. Unfortunately, the payment was taken up front on the website when the job was booked. At least they enjoyed the guy’s Borat impersonation?
So this episode wasn’t particularly funny and I am OK with that. Instead of leaning heavily on jokes, the episode focused more on the relationship between Mr. Frond and Louise. The two of them have never gotten along and Louise was unwilling to defend him. It isn’t until she realizes that he is innocent and he realizes how much it sucks to be falsely accused of something that they reach some sort of understanding. It was also kinda cool to see Louise use her smarts to figure out who actually stole the yogurt. That girl is destined for greatness if she can stop her pranking ways.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
