English Dub Review: ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. “A Graceful Black Adder Bears Its Fangs”

This week, business kicks up a bit. While Jean is away for three different audits, Lotta is nearly kidnapped by Dowa representatives by way of the Princess, but both Owl and Rail help in foiling the plot. Mauve hears about it, but really doesn’t do a whole lot about it at this juncture, and Jean is just getting his last audit underway while this is going on. Meanwhile, the Five Officers get together and officially put forth in motion a coup that will see Jean take his rightful place as the King. Turns out, Lilium has been behind the idea of a coup this whole time.

Our Take

This week’s episode was kinda what I was hoping this show was going to be more of. Entertaining drama, attempts at killing people, the whole deal. A fight somewhere around here would’ve made this more entertaining, but really we just got a stern talking to from Owl to the Dowa reps. I also quite enjoyed Lilium’s turn, but I don’t buy just yet that the officers are THAT sold on Jean just to see a coup. For eight or so episodes they were harassing this guy, and now they wanna be best pals? Rather odd, hopefully we can get some clarification over the next several weeks.
