BOX OFFICE REPORT 3/6/17: “Zucchini” Continues Burn

Gkids may have TWO hits on its hands in a few weeks.

This past week, My Life As A Zucchini officially grossed another $44,000 in 29 locations which helped bring the Oscar-nominated film’s total box office draw to just under $80k here in the United States, and $5.5 million world wide against an $8 million budget.

The Gkids-distributed flick, My Life As A Zucchini’s English dub adaptation with Will Forte, Nick Offerman, and others has been out in a lot less time than the original French version, so I think before it’s all said and done, this thing is well into the black in regards to profitability.

After his mother’s sudden death, Zucchini is befriended by a police officer, Raymond, who accompanies him to his new foster home, filled with other orphans his age. At first he struggles to find his place in this at times strange and hostile environment. But with Raymond’s help and his newfound friends, Zucchini eventually learns to trust and love, as he searches for a new family of his own.
