Review: Fairly OddParents “Fancy Schmancy; Spring Break-Up “

Fancy Schmancy

Timmy and Chloe’s parents have a disagreement over how to raise their kids, so the two can’t celebrate their friendiversary. Right away, Timmy’s dad tries to cheer up Timmy by being all “fancy schmancy”, but Timmy wants to do everything he can to hang out with his fairy friends which is worth more than all the gold in the world. As time goes on, the parents eventually realize that their kids having friends is more important than social stature and opts to not be a distraction anymore.

Spring Break-Up

Timmy and Chloe are going camping with their families, but clearly the families have two VERY different ideas of what it means to be enjoying the great outdoors. For Chloe, it’s more traditional and environmentally friendly while Timmy and his family bring a house on wheels. It takes two seconds for Chloe to want to opt to ditch the traditional camping styles and instead wishes for her family to join up with Timmy’s family which leads everyone to be together.

While the parents have a time in dealing with their camping conflicts, the fairies meet up with some elves and everyone seems to be having a good time…except for Chloe’s parents who decide to leave. To help, the kids decide to setup a ruse with some bears that forces the families to work together and resolve their differences.

Our Take

I’m getting a little sick of these scheduling fowl ups but this week’s episode of Fairly OddParents was one of the better weeks we’ve had since the Nicktoons move. Both stories featured funny clashes featuring the parents that a lot of us can relate to. Oddly enough, I think the parents get all the good jokes because Timmy and Chloe are very hit and miss with their dialogue.
