Review: Regular Show “New Beds”

Who doesn’t approve of a good night’s sleep?

Having just made their space escape, the park employees must embark on their next mission…buying new beds. We take a trip to uMak where everyone gets chased around the store by a bounty hunter looking to collect Pops’ head. Thanks to a large piece of furniture, the guys learn that Pops is the “Chosen One”, and is revered throughout the galaxy.

The guys take off, and with the power of team-work, we topple the bounty hunter and head back through space in brand-new beds. While we were gone, Muscle Man and High Five Ghost had an adventure of their own.

Our Take

I love episodes of Regular Show that seem like ordinary tasks gone berserk, and that’s what we’re dealing with here. Better yet, the episode continues to introduce important plot points. In this instance, the concept that we now have bounty hunters so shades of Empire Strikes Back, and then we also get the start of the back story that is the battle between Pops and his opposite and why exactly the two are mortal enemies. Interesting stuff, and it’ll be interesting to see where we go from here.
