Review: Future-Worm “Revenge of the Anchovy Monster; Food Goggles; Steak Starbolt Spectacular”

Hope you’re not hungry.

Spoilers Below

“Revenge Of The Anchovy Monster”

Fyootch and Danny order some pizza with NO anchovies, but the pizza shows up WITH anchovies. Despite the fact that they like him, Fyootch HATES anchovies. The duo decides to order a new pizza, but all of the delivery guys are going missing. RoboCarp isn’t any help, so Danny’s dad shows the guys how to make their own pizza…only for it to get rained on with anchovies. We come to find out this is all the workings of the anchovy monster who leads a trail that goes to a final revenge battle.

The trail leads to the zoo which cages all of the town’s pizza guys, but when Fyootch tries to kick some ass, Paco gets in the way. Fyootch gets eaten by the monster, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson explains why the worm’s hate of anchovies is so deep seated. Fortunately, the worm is set free because FYOOTCH is disgusting. Fyootch and the anchovy make amends JUST in time for Barl to show up and take anchovy monster heads home.

“Food Goggles”

Danny invents Food Goggles to help make his dad’s shitty food (sorry, Ry), taste a lot better. Danny eats everything in sight…everything. The eating gets out of control, so Danny’s gotta try to remove these goggles before it’s too late. Fyootch and Danny get out of the house and do battle with this huge robot cow. We come to find that when Danny tells the truth, he becomes a formidable opponent to the cow. The cow is destroyed, and both Ryan and Fyootch head back home just in time to help the parents clean up.

“Steak Starbolt Spooktacular”

Steak Starbolt is an intergalactic hero and his is his Halloween episode. We’ve got zombies, space, and he’s great at doing PSAs. Just as Steak looks like he’s gonna skate his way to a decent check, an old accomplice gets her revenge.

Our Take

I’m really starting to love this show due to the fact that it’s so out of control. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is a problem solver deluxe and helped wrap up some of the threads that we saw get loose last week with Fyootch and his team going to battle. “Food Goggles” featured a Godzilla-esque battle that I wish went longer, but was still legit as hell. And then, Steak Starbolt, yet another short that could just as well be a new animated series all by itself.

Fans of Uncle Grandpa that are longing for the days when the show finishes out may have a new-found love for Future-Worm. The cast is excellent, the stories are fun and original, and I love the unpredictability that comes along with the series. Ryan Quincy is writing the show of his life, and should be proud of this one.
