RoosterTeeth in collaboration with “Hi-Def Ninja” has unleashed their biggest announcement which can be found on this “Tweet” but on August 1, 2016 – in preparation for the highly anticipated premiere of RWBY: Volume 4 on October 22nd, RT will re-release Volumes 1 – 3 of globally acclaimed, award-winning animated series RWBY!
Along with Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM) RT is giving RWBY fans the chance to relive all of the action, excitement and drama of the hit animated series’ first three volumes, collectively known as the “Beacon” story arc, in a limited edition, collectible Blu-ray SteelBook® releasing on October 4th.
Following their first collaboration for the Red vs. Blue: The Chorus Trilogy SteelBook®, the Rooster Teeth Animation creative team once again worked closely with Scanavo’s design team to produce the stunning new artwork featured on the cover, interior and discs of this first-ever RWBY SteelBook® release. “Rooster Teeth has been very excited to work with Cinedigm and Scanavo to design a RWBY SteelBook® that collects the first three volumes in one place,” said Gray G. Haddock, Head of Rooster Teeth Animation. “Whether you’ve been a fan all along or are just now starting to watch RWBY, you’re going to want this beautiful edition gracing your shelves.”

I could most likely see this as a gift idea for people new to RWBY if they own a Blu-ray player but it’s quite surprising how far they’re taking the re-release towards the first 3 volumes. Part of me is excited for Vol.4 later in October yet at the same time I don’t know if blowing $49.97 is worth it when you can instantly get the first 3 volumes separately within places like Wal-Mart, Best Buy or online .
