Jordanian writer Jailed For Posting Cartoon

This is nuts.

Nahed Hattar, a Jordanian writer, has been thrown in jail for posting a cartoon that got Muslims all pissed off. What’s worst yet, is Nahed posted the cartoon on HIS personal Facebook page named “God of Daesh”, and according to Al Jazeera, it features a fighter from ISIL, also known as ISIS, sitting next to two women and asking God to bring him a drink.

Hattar(like me) doesn’t believe in any God, but claims he wasn’t even trying to go after those that believe in pagan religions, rather he was just trying to expose just how silly followers of ISIS and ISIL really are. And while Jordan isn’t a country under theocratic law, the country is comprised of mostly Muslim citizens, and the secular law is trying to be sensitive to those people.

Pretty sure more people have been killed and jailed in the name of religion than any other topic. But, that’s what I’m proud to be an American.
