FX Developing yet ANOTHER Starburns Industries series
We were the first to break the news that Starburns Industries is producing the Albert Brooks/Louis C.K. pilot presentation and now Deadline is reporting that FX is developing yet ANOTHER series with studio that makes us Animals and Rick and Morty.
The name of the 30-minute series is Happy City and it comes from the comedy group Extremely Decent(Nick Smith, Jon Eidson, Ian McQuown, Mikey Caro, and Brendan Rice). Happy City is described as a Thomas the Tank Engine for adults follows a young taxi named Tyler and his millennial friends (a firetruck and a helicopter) as they navigate their way through life in the big city. The world of the series will be reminiscent of the model-based visual style of children’s shows such as Thomas the Tank Engine, using models with animated faces to comedically explore adult themes such as broken relationships, workplace struggles, and existential crises.
Our Take
Starburns continues a hot streak for 2016 that includes HBO’s Animals, the Academy Award nominated Anomalisa, and now back-to-back pilots with FX. FX is getting serious again about animation post-the probable cancellation of Animation Domination HD, and Floyd County productions is definitely no longer the ‘go-to’ animation studio for the network anymore other than for Archer.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
