BUBBLE CAN Review: The Stanley Dynamic “The Stanley Detective”

12-spare-charlie-brown-christmas-trees-made-perfectWe’re really starting to wind down on this season of the Stanley Dynamic. There are still a few episodes left in the bag. How was last night’s episode? Read on to find out!

In The Stanley Detective When Summer loses her favorite bracelet, Larry helps her retrace her steps, while Luke channels the world’s greatest detective. Sher-Luke Holmes is on the case! Meanwhile, the family wins a trial run with a butler.

This wasn’t the greatest outing for the Stanley Dynamic. The detective angle was a good idea, but the plot felt unfocused. By the end of the episode, I sort of forgot what mystery they were trying to solve. There was a lot of investigating and a lot of fun interactions, but ultimately the episode wraps up a little too conveniently.

The Butler subplot was alright. The Butler was played by Sean Cullen, a Canadian comedian. Usually a very eccentric presence, Sean was a little more subdued and really fit into the butler role. When I heard he would be the butler, I thought we were in for something zany and off the wall. A louder presence. We didn’t get that, unfortunately. The jokes and writing were business as usual, they’ll be funny if you’ve liked it so far.

Overall, not my favorite episode thus far for the show. Probably not in my top ten or fifteen, but still a pretty fun episode. Fans of the show need not worry, the usual positives about the show are still there for the most part, I think I was just looking for a little bit more this time around.
