Comics Review: Simpsons Comics #227
Spoilers Below
Peas in a Podcast
Lisa starts a podcast that tries to exonerate Moe from stealing Moleman’s car. Hers eventually becomes so popular that everyone in Springfield starts a podcast, but after a while, everyone gets so busy producing their own podcast that nobody listens to the other shows. As a result, everyone drops out of the game, and Lisa gets back to freeing Moe from a crime he didn’t commit.
Moe in “Closing Time”
A fun strip that details what happens when Moe goes down for the night after a hard day’s work.
Slumber Party Seance
Lisa tries to play a prank on her friends featuring boys and ghosts, but then the girls kind of get back at her by not exactly telling her the whole truth with what happened to those boys and their tree house.
Our Take
It isn’t often that Simpsons Comics takes part in TRUE parody like its TV brother, but the kick-off story about podcasting did just that. I thought “Peas in a Podcast” was a rather hilarious and honest portrayal of podcasts that should leave the hard core fan base of the art form a little butt hurt. The other two bits were pretty good, too, I just kinda wish we swapped out the last “Lisa” story for something a little different, but overall a solid issue.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
