Review: Venture Bros. “Faking Miracles”

Spoilers Below

This week’s episode starts with us and The Monarch finding out that his father was a superhero. His name was Blue Morpho and he was definitely a Green Hornet wannabe. Completely equipped with a Kato type side kick even though he was more Oddjob from James Bond than he was Kato. Either way he seemed pretty lame but still a world better than the Seth Rogen version that had Bruce Lee rolling over in his grave.
Most of the episode revolves around a party that is being thrown by The Wide Wale for his daughter Serena’s 18th birthday. Hank has a crush on Serena and ends up at the party coincidentally when he is delivering pizza. I am really looking forward to this where this story-line goes. Meeting your girlfriend’s dad for the first time is rough enough but The Wide Wale?
The Monarch is called to the party by his wife but is forced to change his attire when he arrives. Apparently The wide Wale doesn’t want him seen in his villain costume by his “legitimate” associates who are also at the party. A new character that I can only describe as Dean Martin with a unique super power, helps him change clothes but really has ulterior motives.
Meanwhile away from the party, Brock is helping Dean study for the SATs. All of a sudden Dean starts feeling the effects of something that has entered his body while he was showering. I wont tell you what it is and I won’t tell you how it entered his body. Lets just say it has something to do with Dr. Venture and Billy and it’s the last place where you would want something to enter you. There is an awesome homage to Ripley’s Power Loader from Aliens (The best sequel ever) with Billy and Pete.
I really love how the writers have set up this season, I can’t wait for more!
