BubbleCAN: Archer Season Seven to premiere same date/time on Adult Swim Canada as FX Networks USA
It used to be Teletoon at Night got first run, but over the last year or so Corus Entertainment has definitely been giving the original and acquired programming edge to Cartoon Network/Adult Swim Canada. The network has both acquired content and home-grown programming, and has announced rad contracts with big name studios to ensure that more content is on the way. The fruits of this labor has already been seen in such programming as Knuckleheads, Two Nuts and a Richard, and Fugget About It, and now the network is stepping up its game to make sure acquired content gets the same kind of attention.
Ergo, Archer Season Seven has been announced as premiering the same day and time as it does in the United States that being on Thursday Nights starting March 31st with Teletoon at Night getting airings at a later time. The network has also announced when Rick and Morty Season Two will premiere and a slew of other new and returning programming to come by in the foreseeable future. There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
