Review: Long Live the Royals “Punk Show”
Spoilers Below
Rosalind wants to go to Gavin’s punk show without guards ruining everything, but King Rufus won’t let her unless if she is able to host an event with the common folk and her brothers without any big shit going down. Obviously, Alex goes ballistic and nearly burns the town down, leaving Rosalind to be grounded by her dad. The rebellious daughter ends up sneaking out of the house anyway to go to the show, but misses Gavin’s set. Not one to ruin a perfectly good ticket, Rosalind proceeds to have a good time, but ends up getting into a fight with some of the show’s patrons right up until Rufus shows up to set everyone straight. Rosalind is grounded, but she gets to dance the night away with her dad all the while shoving Gavin away.
Our Take
As a former kid that had to sneak out to go see shows, I can relate to Rosalind. When I was younger I often had to go to concert venues where you knew fights were gonna break out, but you just watch your eye glasses and try not to stand up too stiff.
Long Live the Royals does an excellent job of displaying what is typically a punk/metal life style nowadays. Furthermore, this was the first episode since the pilot where the true juxtaposition of a medieval time and current day really starts to clash. Rosalind and Gavin on their phones and the climax at a show with electric guitars all the while living in a huge castle? That’s the type of stuff that makes this show legit.
SCORE
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
