Spoilers Below

A Pterodactyl is terrorizing the neighborhood during Christmas and WE CAN’T HAVE DINOSAURS ON CHRISTMAS!! After having a first-hand encounter, the Scooby Doo gang head to a local dig site where we learn that the Dr. is digging up a site that has a preserved Pterodactyl nest. The crew leaves so as to let Fred solve whatever the hell he’s looking for, but another Pterodactyl attack and now we need to do something.

The Mayor decides to shut down the dig, but even this doesn’t convince Fred of anything…that is until the Pterodactyl returns and tries to take Daphne and Scooby away. It doesn’t succeed, but the Pterodactyl does take away the Christmas tree, but Fred and the gang are RIGHT behind it. Eventually, Fred knocks the shit out of the Pterodactyl from the sky, and we find out that the Dr’s elf was the guy running the dino and the guy who put the star on the tree. Oh yea, and it’s Daphne’s birthday.

Our Take

I’m pretty happy that we get to check in on the Be Cool, Scooby Doo gang before we head for winter. I particularly like Scooby Doo episodes where the entire town plays as a setting as opposed to a house or something because we get a lot more freedom and room to breath for fun stuff. Case in point, the flying Scooby wagon chasing after the Pterodactyl.

Daphne and Fred were quite a bit annoying in this week’s episode, and while that was the intention, I think we could’ve dialed it back a tad on their whining. Other than that, with Krimpus tearing up the box office, Scooby Doo showcases that you can definitely cross Christmas and spooky, and have it be good though I would’ve preferred a villain a bit more prudent to the season. A dinosaur? ON CHRISTMAS??
