Spoilers Below

It’s Pranksgiving, and while Dawn, Fish, Eli, and Belinda are preoccupied with dealing their best pranks while Kirby runs into his future self.  Future Kirby comes back to tell his younger-self that Dawn’s future is pretty damn good and it’s all because she pranks Principal Mitchell which helps start her rise to power. Despite the fact that Future Kirby tells Kirby exactly what Dawn’s plan is, he’s unable to do anything about it, so Mitchell gets pranked and Dawn is due for a prestigious honor at a gala later on in the evening.

Belinda starts up a Secret Santa, but for pranks. Eli gets the French kid, but doesn’t want to ruin his ‘moral fiber’ while someone else lands Fish…but who?

The two Kirbys decide to beat Dawn to the punch and come up with their own prank, but we find out that the future Kirby is a hired actor sent by Dawn to land the ultimate prank on her brother in front of the entire school. However, we learn that Kirby knew about this plan the entire time and turns the tables on Dawn and then Mitchell gets his revenge. We get a rushed ending where Eli goes nuts with cheese whiz on the mute kid, and Fish pulls a Fight Club.

Our Take

Obviously, the movie inspirations are all over the place with Terminator and Fight Club, but I actually thought the ending to Kirby’s story was a bit obvious due to the fact that I found it weird that the hired actor didn’t have the same wild imagination in seeing his cartoons as Kirby did. This made the ending a dead give away, and yet I was still perplexed as to how the two Kirbys became friends at the end. Surprisingly enough, I rather enjoyed Fish’s story, too. Again, it’s an idea that has been used a bunch of times before, but he actually pulled it off pretty well. Snakes and shoes, and a Belinda that is clearly losing her mind.

That said, I don’t think it’s required that every kid gets SOMETHING during the course of the episode. For example, there wasn’t anything that important about Eli’s plot that made me really care THAT much. Also, Belinda just seemed kinda lost this go-round. But, Mitchell saves. As a matter of fact, if we made a spin-off series all about Mitchell I would be fine with it.
