Disney, Universal, and now LEGO are all taking advantage of the popular “toys to life” genre of games where you purchase a $100 game with a starter pack ,then you buy a bunch of other packs similar to real-life DLC, and then you collect them all for the full game experience.
LEGO checks in with Simpsons-inspired packs and you can see screens of all the characters you can play against/as. A level one pack for The Simpsons will be available the day LEGO Dimensions drops on September 27th, and then a Simpsons Fun Pack follows in November. The game will be playable on all major home consoles.
