Pickle and Peanut might be Disney XD’s weirdest show
What the fuck is in the water over at Disney XD? First, the network puts out a Blue Suede promo for Guardians of the Galaxy, and now we have two minutes of Pickle and Peanut and I gotta tell ya, this show is NOT holding back punches.
Hot off the rear of the heavy metal promo, this look at Pickle and Peanut showcases just how out of control this show is going to be. ”Pickle and Peanut,” is an animated buddy-comedy series that follows the offbeat teenage adventures of best friends Pickle and Peanut. Jon Heder (“Napoleon Dynamite”) stars as the emotional Pickle and Johnny Pemberton (“22 Jump Street”) as the freewheeling Peanut. The series employs an inventive mix of 2-D animation and live-action clips that highlight the unpredictable humor and quirky nature of the series and the results truly show in this clip.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
