Black Dynamite/Boondocks producer joins staff of new Comedy Central series

Coming next year from Bento Box is a new animated series called Legends Of Chamberlain Heights. “Legends of Chamberlain Heights” is an urban animated series mixing raucous comedy and social commentary that centers on three high school freshman: Jamal, Grover, and Milk(Hawking voices Jamal and Johnson voices Grover and Milk). The three friends tackle life with some wins and some losses, but failure doesn’t faze them since they’re legends…even if it’s just in their own minds.

And if the already announced staff wasn’t enough to get you excited (like Good Vibes’ crew of Brad Ableson and Mike Clements returning to produce) then this will…Black Dynamite/Boondocks producer Carl Jones!

This is fantastic news, because the attributes that ”Legends of Chamberlain Heights” are looking for in the areas of comedy and urban social commentary, Carl is one of the best in the world at. His work on shows like Black Dynamite and The Boondocks is legendary (no pun intended) and while it’s unknown as to what capacity Carl is working in, be it in creative or in production, it doesn’t matter because he can do it all! Moreover, I’m a huge Brad Ableson fan, too, so I can’t wait to see what these two guys come up with because I’m sure it’s gonna be crazy.

“LEGENDS OF CHAMBERLAIN HEIGHTS” is currently in production for 10 episodes set to premier on Comedy Central in 2016. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
