Dear Disney/Marvel…Here’s why ‘Kirby Buckets’ should be Spider-Man
Since Sony decided to ruin the Spider-Man film franchise not once but twice, Marvel is now doing all the work in picking a new guy to play Spider-Man as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 1500 boys were looked at to play the web-slinger, with the names narrowed down to six hopefuls whom look to play a high school version Peter Parker. Personally, I’m not crazy about any of the picks, but don’t worry Marvel, the real Peter Parker was right in front of you the whole time…
On Disney XD! That’s because I would like to officially nominate the star of Kirby Buckets, Mr. Jacob Bertrand as your NEW Peter Parker. Here’s why…
1) Jacob already does a great job of acting with a bunch of animated characters which will probably be the case as he plays opposite a bunch of CG villains and characters because he does it on Kirby Buckers which has already been picked up for a second season by Disney XD so he already knows how to carry a franchise.
2) He fits the age at 14 years old to be your high school Peter Parker.
3) Jacob Bertrand is funnier than the other picks that Marvel has. Similar to Spider-Man, Jacob lands pretty good jokes and almost has the timing of a stand-up comedian. That’s what was great about Spider-Man, he was a smart-ass the majority of the time. Jacob does this well in Kirby Buckets with comedic timing that is on par with if not better than a lot of the adult actors.
4) An established audience is already there. Fans of Kirby Buckets that watch Disney XD already watch Spider-Man. Therefore, you have the potential to increase ratings on two different shows just by playing reruns all the while building a star for the Spider-Man of the future.
Let’s face it, Marvel can’t do any worse than Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire in picking their next Spider-Man. However, they’d be hard-pressed to find someone who is ready-made for the franchise, and as such I think the company would be making a big mistake by not looking at Jacob Bertrand for the role of Peter Parker.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
