Review: The Stanley Dynamic “The Stanley Date Night”
Another week, another Stanley Dynamic! It’s party time for the Stanley’s and was the episode as fun to watch as the parties going on in the episode? Let’s delve into that in the review!
In “The Stanley Date Night” While Mom and Dad enjoy their first romantic night out in ages, Larry and Luke juggle baby-sitting duties with attending Chelsea’s party.
Every parent needs a break from parenting every once in a while, and the Stanley parents are no different! Luke and Larry are put in charge of babysitting, but get caught up in swapping in and out so each can go to Chelsea’s party. The episode isn’t anything special for the show. It has the fun banter between the characters that we’ve come to enjoy, but the jokes weren’t hitting me well tonight. Everything in the episode played out a little too conveniently.
The animation was very on point. Once again Luke is animated into the live action world with precision, and he was probably the best part of the show last night. I found his jokes the funniest, and he played off a lot of characters well. Sometimes I feel like people are talking at him instead of to him, but this episode did that pretty well. The interactions felt a little more genuine.
Overall, there wasn’t much new brought to the table. There are some funny jokes thrown into a neat story, and tied together with a great animated character. You’ll probably have your share of laughs, but this probably won’t be among the memorable episodes of the first season. I was particularly interested in this episode, because I thought it would focus a little more on the parents and how the dynamics of their relationship are, but they weren’t exactly given a ton of time. No harm done though, they were also entertaining during their scenes. They have good chemistry!
Short and sweet this week! How did you like “The Stanley Date Night”? Like it? Not so much? Let us know your thoughts!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
