TradePaperback Review: Bart Simpson Blastoff

feb151096

Bongo Comics has issued a new collection of Bart Simpson Comics classics, more specifically issues #55, then 59 through 62. For the most part what you get is a collection of stories which is always depressing when it comes to Bongo because other comics publishers put extra goodies in a TP to make it worth your while ala alternate covers, stencils, things like that. But, Bongo, whom is usually pretty good at adding a bunch of goodies, really doesn’t do that here.

What you get is straight up comics, and for the most part the Bart Simpson strips are pretty good and feature plots like Bart hanging out with Grampa, and getting into battles with Mr. Burns and Lisa. Unfortunately, I have no idea why we have any other stories that AREN’T Bart Simpsons ones. In other words, I think every story should have Bart and should maybe get a bit more creative perhaps by adding some Bartman or something, but this isn’t the case. Don’t give me Homer and Marge centric stories…nope…it should be all Bart all the time. Otherwise, what’s the point in having a Bart comic or a Simpsons comic?
