Review: Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja “When Howie Met Randy / Bro Money Bro Problems”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

“When Howie Met Randy

Howard tells us this made up story on how Randy and Howard met. It involved Howard coming back from his Grandma’s trying to convince everyone that he’s the new kid, but really Randy’s known him since he was three. In any case, the flashback sees Randy and Howard at age 6 where they head into the high school and come in contact with McFist’s wife whom has been turned into an almost praying mantis monster by the Sorceror. Thankfully, the ninja shows up and saves the day.

Our Take

First of all, Pat Warburton’s take on the ninja should be its on TV show. Secondly, I really enjoyed the Muppet Babies take on this week’s Randy, and the monster battle was a heck of a lot of fun.

Bro Money Bro Problems”

Howard and Randy start making money off of all of the left over weapons that the ninja leaves behind after battles. Eventually, Viceroy builds a robot ninja comprised of all of the left over weapons and he uses it to attack Randy. This causes Randy to realize that he shouldn’t be selling his weapons and instead he should just keep them. He destroys the ninja-bot after he ascertains the OTP at the pawn store, but McFist thinks he won it.

Our Take

I think someone should be using the OTP suit all of the time. Another original episode that was a heck of a lot of fun. The battle at the end was maybe one of the best of the shows’ lifetime, but the songs were a bit ridiculous. Overall, maybe the best whole 30-minute run of Randy that has aired on Disney XD this year.
