A new ‘Muppets’ TV series could be coming to ABC
Disney-owned properties like Marvel already have TV shows on ABC like Agents of Shield and Agent Carter, and now it looks like we’re getting another popular brand for the prime-time TV audiences…The Muppets!
That’s right, Deadline.com is reporting that a new TV series inspired by The Muppets is being produced for ABC and it’s being presented by Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory) and Bob Kushell. It centers around The Muppets characters, including Kermit the Frog, working on a late-night talk show.
Our Take
The Muppet Show and the subsequent Muppet Babies were both hugely popular, to see a return of the franchise to ABC would be awesome. We haven’t had a puppet show on the major networks since I think Greg the Bunny, and we could use a little more variety in our TV. Presently, I really only watch Agents of Shield on ABC, and I’m not even crazy about that show anymore, so this would be a great way to see me back for sure.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
