Review: Kirby Buckets “Kick the Buckets”

Spoilers Below
Kirby finally starts producing his own cartoons for the school ‘zine. His artwork makes him the first to be questioned when someone tags the hallway with a drawing.
Dawn becomes Constable of the school which means she has her eyes on the bad seeds of the building. Her first victim is some new kid, her next is her brother or whomever is the one defacing public property. As a result, Dawn starts harassing her brother and following everywhere Kirby goes. This actually helps Kirby when the next tag surfaces which causes him to team up with his sister to see who the real troublemaker is.
Turns out when the Buckets work together, they are INSANE. The tag team decides to interview a list of suspects by any means necessary. We soon find out that the school zine has a new cartoonist named Jean Luc and is now a prime suspect in the crime at hand, but is proven innocent. As a result of the false claims brought against the Buckets, the Principal is threatening expulsion.
Meanwhile, Fish wants to tutor Eli into being a world-class arm wrestling champ. Eventually, Eli beats the shit out of the rest of the school while Fish acts as the Don King. During the championship event, Eli throws the round and we find out that the new kid was the one behind all of the crimes and Dawn kinda had something to do with it. The Buckets go back to hating each other, which is sad.
A fantastic week for Kirby Buckets, where do I begin. The Principal’s hair constantly blowing in the wind never gets old, and I LOVED, I LOVED the Buckets & Buckets bit. The reason why I loved it is because I loved the slo-mo scenes featuring the duo, and I was really beginning to like the kids work together. The scenes where they were interrogating kids was hilarious, and the fact that the series got back to its original premise of being all about Kirby’s dream in being a cartoonist is always more than welcome. I could have done without the Eli/Fish plot as I thought it was kinda boring, but overall one of the best episodes of the year thus far.
