Comics Review: The Simpsons #218

Comic Book Guy falls asleep while watching a DVD sci-fi marathon. Equipped with his alien chestburter cup holder, he ends up falling asleep while some of his favorite movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Ender’s Game, and Gravity come on. While asleep, he dreams up scenarios of Simpsons characters crossed with the big stars of those aforementioned franchises and why wake him up from that?

Two-thirds of this issue is such a great idea. The Simpsons crossed with Guardians was so cool, and even though Chalmers was kind of a stretch, I found myself enjoying the cross quite a bit. Same thing could be said for the Gravity-spin, but I would’ve like to have seen less of Ender’s Game in exchange for more of Lisa and Bart in space. As a matter of fact, why is Ender’s Game on ANYONE’s sci-fi marathon? That movie sucked?? Thankfully, there’s enough in this issue to satisfy.
