Reddit AMA Recap: Jon Benjamin…was/is there a ‘Pam’ spin-off?

Jon Benjamin finally got on the ball and took part in his much-delayed Reddit AMA session and we were able to scan through and get some of the highlights. For the most part, the questions were rather standard and Jon’s sarcasm always shines through, especially through print. But, the one BIG note that came from it is that there was talk of a Pam spin-off of Archer that was being talked about. Now, I don’t know if he’s just fucking with our head, Christ knows he does that enough, but it’s such a great idea. Let’s get into it:

Does Jon prefer on-camera roles or voice roles?

i like both. obviously i have had more opportunities doing voice work, but i certainly like doing on camera. voice acting has a lot of upsides in that it takes very little time and effort. on camera acting for me is a bit more pressure

Does he find himself Quoting his characters in public?

There was a woman who worked at starbucks near me whose name was Lana and I did say ‘Lana, Lana, Lana’ to her once but never yelled

On his rendezvous with Christian Slater

he left his baseball hat at the photo shoot so i have something personal that he wants. that’s the best way to get a man!

Is there a Pam spin-off?

i know people have talked about Pam getting a spin-off. I’m pretty sure it was called The Poovey Files and she was like Magnum PI

Jon will be working with Jon Katz again for a one-off

I just spoke to him today coincidentally enough. They are doing a 20 yr anniversary Dr. katz show in san fran next week and I have reprise my Ben role.
