Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 18: Panthers vs Cards

It’s time for the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs, and what better way to kick them off than by a team with a losing record (Panthers) and a team with no real-life Quarterback (Cardinals). Sounds like a thrilling contest, no? Here’s who Carl has picked for his winner.

Carolina Panthers

I like the multi-faceted attack that the Panthers showed against the Browns which showed an effective Cam Newton making the plays when he had to, lead by Jonathan Stewart whom is starting to come alive JUST in time for the Playoffs. What really has to happen is the Panthers D needs to dare Ryan Lindley to throw the ball all the while keeping the run game in check, and making Michael Floyd one-dimensional because Larry Fitz is way past his prime.

Arizona Cardinals

The only thing I like about Arizona (besides the weather) is Bruce Arians. He has his players playing spirited football despite the fact that, on paper, they are one of the worst teams in the league statistically. These guys are on the bottom of the pile when it comes to Run Offense and Pass D which doesn’t make for a quality playoff team. Throw in the fact that Ryan Lindley is your QB, and I see the Panthers winning this easily.
