Review: Wild Grinders “Grindy the Snowman”
What the hell did I just watch?
Spoilers Below
Of course, I was going into tonight’s episode of Wild Grinders not expecting a narrative written from Disney or something. I was expecting something more than what we got. I was expecting more than a bunch of skateboarder kids who have never heard of a snowboard. The fact that snow suddenly fell in what amounts to an animated Los Angeles didn’t make much sense. Coming from Wild Grinders, however, I just left it alone and tried to go along for the ride.
I can just deal with the stupid “snow for no reason” bullshit, but this just amounts to be a warped rehash of Frosty the Snowman. The only thing Grindy wanted was to live. So, when he made the first snow day into a second, he was able to stick with the kids. When he turned Rob’s house into a winter wonderland, Rob decided he had to go. After turning everywhere and everything into a snowy mess for weeks on end (I’m pretty sure that the snow is under represented. Just look at Buffalo from last week.), Rob comes up with the perfect place to send Grindy, and he lives on in natural winter wonderland.
I’m still not sure where I want to go with this. It wasn’t bad, but it was nowhere near good, either. It was so much like a Frosty the Snowman cartoon, it even had the bit where the kids were marching behind Grindy. The animation was there, so I have no real gripes. However, what I am left with is a bad taste in my mouth, and a hankering to watch this guy:
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
