Review: Bee & Puppycat – “Beach”

The latest episode of Bee & Puppycat, titled “Beach,” starts out with Bee eating lunch with a strange new man. He has a salad, while she only has yogurt. Of course, she tries gargling the yogurt in order to make cheese. Ah, Bee. We soon find out that Bee is not eating lunch with someone. She is watching a television show called “Pretty Patrick Lunchtime.” This is a marathon of every single episode, leading up to a special episode where they will find out Patrick’s favorite food.

As Bee and Puppycat get ready to settle in to watch the entire marathon, Cardamon knocks on her door. Apparently Bee’s toilet is overflowing, flooding Cardamon’s bathroom. Since the little boy is her landlord, he is there to fix the toilet for her. Unfortunately, Bee and Puppycat need to go very, very far away so he can work. They go so far that they end up at the beach.

But now Bee can’t watch the “Pretty Patrick” marathon! She decides to visit every cafe on the beach to see if any of them have her beloved show on their televisions. Unfortunately, they are all showing something similar but different. Bee wishes she could have her own cafe. However, she does not have enough money to make her (new) dream come true. Instead, the pair decides to visit Temp-Bot. After all, she is a huge television. They just need to convince her to let them hang out and watch her.

Just as Puppycat calls forth the letter that will transport them to Temp-Bot, a gust of wind pulls the letter from his hand. Puppycat chases the letter across the beach and into the ocean. Bee refuses to get into the water so Puppycat comes back to her. He opens the letter and they transport away.

Back in Bee’s apartment (SAILOR MOON REFERENCE!), Cardamon is still working on the toilet. This time he has a small fishing rod. His hook catches on something and he pulls hard. For some reason, there was a can of food stuck in the toilet. Sorry Cardamon, it makes no sense to me either.

I am so happy that Bee & Puppycat is back! While it is cool seeing the pair working their various temp jobs, I highly enjoy watching them interact in the real world. It’s interesting to see how “normal” people react to their shenanigans. Now we just have to bring back Deckard and Cass to finish their storyline.
