Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 16: Panthers vs Browns

As a Cowboys fan that can maybe speak for a small sampling of other Cowboys fans, let me assure you a huge sigh of relief has already been let out when Jerry Jones decided to pass on Johnny Manziel in favor of Zach Martin with the latter arguably in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ conversation. I don’t even know why Cleveland made the switch from Brian Hoyer to Manziel except for the fact that the Browns got tired or winning games and decided to make sure they can return to the early draft round status that they’ve adorned for several years. Watch Carl’s Pick here.

Carolina Panthers

This is an interesting game because we get to see Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton vs Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Personally, I think Newton has a bit more to prove to critics worried that his recent car accident has him slowed down, and the young QB has a bit more to play for as the Panthers are still very much in the hunt whereas Cleveland does not. Expect this Defense to respond.

Cleveland Browns

This team has nothing to play for except for draft position, so don’t be surprised if coach has a lot of pass plays in the book offering up numerous chances at sack opportunities. And no matter how many Snickers bars he’s gonna eat, Johnny Manziel isn’t going to amount to much. Expect a similar career to RG3 where you get a ton of hype, but not a lot of play.
