Review: Mr. Pickes ”The Lair”
Spoilers Below
Grandpa has had enough of trying to tell people about what Mr. Pickles is up to and no one believing him, so he buys a camera and heads into Pickles’ dog house. It’s here we meet Steve, a human who acts like a dog but is dressed up in BDSM latex. The Sheriff shows up and we meet all of the atrocities that Mr. Pickles has kept alive over the course of the season. Mr. Pickles hears about the intrusion and takes off to see what’s up. When he shows up, we find out that The Sheriff has been helping Pickles all this time, and that there are multiple Sheriff robots and they are all here to help Pickles make Grandpa look like an idiot. The bots go after Pickles and Grandpa after a malfunction, but Pickles makes quick work with his army of goat heads. Pickles sends Grandpa into a pit, and Steve drives the old bastard through the cave and out of his lair once and for all. The REAL Sheriff shows up to see what exactly is going on, and we learn that Mr. Pickles had a plan all along.
Yea, we got pretty much the most anticipated episode of Mr. Pickles of the year besides maybe the premier, and I’m not disappointed one bet. The lair was just so well done, and to take a trip down memory lane with some of the abominations we’ve seen this season was a lot of fun. The Sheriff-bots were a nice touch, and Steve just gets weirder by the episode. I wanna get more into the show in the season review going up next week, but this show has a lot going for it and there are SO many questions. Like, if Mr. Pickles is evil…in there an opposite of Mr. Pickles? Can the show pull off 30 minutes episodes? (short answer…yes). And does finally GETTING the lair at all spoil the surprise? There was something really fun about not knowing what was down in that hole, however I feel like we are still scratching the surface either way. Season 2 I hope the producers can really expand on the Pickles-side of the universe. As much as I like Mr. Goodman, it seems as though he was sort of crammed in to most episodes, and this week’s episode showed that a little bit of Mr. Goodman goes a long way. Next time I run into the producers of Mr. Pickles, I’ll be sure to give them some fresh Claussens because they deserve ’em.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
