Ratings Are In 10/22/14: More people watched American Dad! than Mulaney
I’m thinking FOX made the wrong moves here when it comes to American Dad! That’s because while FOX has shortened the order of American Dad’s replacement series Mulaney from 16 episodes to 13, TBS’ American Dad! premiered to MORE VIEWERS than what Mulaney did! This…is…hysTERICAL! This is despite the fact that American Dad was available for free online for a few days last week.
According to Deadline.com, here’s how the numbers shook down for the TBS premier of American Dad!, ”Breaking it down: TBS’s 9 PM premiere telecast drew 1.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day — 851,000 demo viewers and 630,000 adults 18-34. Adult Swim followed with an encore at 10 PM., garnering 1.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day — 798,000 demo viewers and 530,000 adults 18-34.”
Wanna know what FOX’s replacement for American Dad! scored? Welp, Deadline.com has that too…a 1.1 overnight. That’s about 2.3 million viewers and that’s WITH a Family Guy lead-in. So yea, TBS’s American Dad! did more viewers in one night than Mulaney…a show no one cares about.
I bet FOX wishes they had THAT one back.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
