Comics Review: The Simpsons #215
Spoilers Below
Phone Homer
Professor Frink scans Homer’s brain, and uploads the results into a machine that cell phones can then utilize as a sort of ‘Siri’, but with Homer’s thoughts. The end result is all of Springfield eating, dressing, and acting like the one and only Homer which sucks for Marge because she can’t seem to find any more of her husband’s clothes. Because of this, Marge buys a dressier outfit for Homer to wear around town, and as luck would have it, it changes the man! He goes to different bars, looks good at restaurants, and gets high marks at work.
Meanwhile, Marge takes up a new gig as a court typist. The plot really doesn’t go many places else, but we do get Matt Groening and Seth MacFarlane gags.
We get a mixed bag of a comics issue this month from The Simpsons. One the one hand, I rather enjoyed the Homer story and found it rather funny. Unfortunately, Marge’s sub plot seemed like the last tag at the bottom of a barrel filled with never used plots, and plucked it JUST for this issue. Not exactly a worthwhile investment this time around, maybe save it for the collection coming at the end of the month.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
