Hayao Miyazaki Might Be Back!

Legendary animator Hayo Miyazaki might be pulling a page out of Brett Favre’s playbook, as it turns out he may not be retired after all.

Back in September, Miyazaki announced he planned to retire after his last film, The Wind Rises. However, Toshio Suzuki, a producer at Studio Ghibli (which was founded by Miyazaki) revealed that the director “may make something again.”

Suzuki added that he has discussed putting something together for the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo with Miyazaki, and that this could be his next project. “This is my guess,” Suzuki said, “but I’m thinking it will be something short.”

Short or not, this will come as great news to Miyazaki’s legions of fans and admirers. Fans and admirers that include The Simpsons, who made an ode to the man earlier this year.
