‘Geek and Sundry’ is ‘Legendary’
The Youtube channel responsible for helping deliver Adam De La Pena his best animated series since Code Monkeys is now part of the humongous Legendary Entertainment.
According to Deadline.com, Legendary Entertainment is expanding its digital division with the acquisition of Felicia Day‘s digital entertainment brand Geek & Sundry. In addition, Legendary Television has inked a deal with Day to develop both scripted and nonscripted projects for TV and digital platforms as a creator and star.
This of course comes on the back of Legendary purchasing Nerdist a few years back, but to be honest, I think the jury is still out on how Legendary treated the Chris Hardwick-owned brand. Yea sure, Hardwick’s stock has sky-rocketed since the transaction, but the Nerdist brand has hardly brought in any decent online content since the acquisition. The only good series Nerdist has is Cops:Skyrim and that was on there before the Legendary acquisition.
I hope the future for Geek and Sundry is a lot rosier. Geek and Sundry had announced that they were bringing back La Pena’s Your Dungeon, My Dragon, but I’ve seen no sign of the series since, so maybe we can get on that before Felicia Day puts down the mortgage for her new house, yea?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
