Nicole Atkins Debuts New Animated Music Video
It’s always nice to see a local kid make it.
Nicole Atkins came from a middle-class neighborhood called Neptune, New Jersey, which is basically a 15-minute drive from the Bubbleblabber home offices. I’ve known about her since before her debut album, Neptune City, had even dropped. I’ve seen her perform at the legendary Stone Pony, first as an opener for The Parlor Mob and then in a headlining role. She went to school for illustration and has dabbled in voice acting. So it was really only a matter of time before we saw one of her Alt-Rock infused jams get the animated treatment.
The video can easily be described as haunting, dark and utterly enjoyable. The colors and shading really help to move the Ilinca Hopfner-animated video along while Nicole soulful voice seemingly keeps you on edge. A perfect combination in my eyes, but I’m the kind of guy who likes a little suspense in his life.
So check out the video below then let us know what you thought and what other genres you’d like to see animated!
