Spring is in the Air (And Everywhere Else): Netflix Drops First “Horned-Up” Trailer for Mating Season
Just in time for “National Horny Day,” Netflix has officially unleashed the first full-length trailer and a series of steamy new images for Mating Season, the highly anticipated adult animated series from the raunchy minds behind Big Mouth.
The new series, produced by Brutus Pink (the production company of Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett), trades middle-school hallways for the wild world of the animal kingdom. Premiering May 22, 2026, the show promises to do for the forest floor what Big Mouth did for puberty: make it awkward, hilarious, and deeply, deeply “horned-up.”
In the Search for Love, We’re All Animals
The trailer introduces us to a world where hibernation is over, and the biological clock is ticking loudly. The story centers on four primary woodland critters, each navigating the messy intersections of romance, lust, and survival:
-
Josh (Zach Woods): A shy bear who wakes up from hibernation with one thing on his mind and absolutely zero social skills to achieve it.
-
Ray (Nick Kroll): A fast-talking, street-smart raccoon looking for love in all the wrong dumpsters.
-
Fawn (June Diane Raphael): A deer who is trying to find “the one” while dodging the predatory nature of modern dating.
-
Penelope (Sabrina Jalees): A fox whose freakiest instincts often get ahead of her heart.
The trailer leans heavily into the R-rated humor that made Big Mouth a global phenomenon, featuring everything from interspecies dating apps to the “universal need to find a partner” told through a lens of anthropomorphic chaos.
