REVIEW: SuperJail! “SuperHell!”

!!Spoilers To Follow!!

When we last left SuperJail, Lord Stingray was after the Warden’s safe and in the process teaching us a lesson in Correctional Officer-Prisoner friendships with the help of the assumed-caught Ash. Unfortunately, The Warden learned a lesson himself as Ash set fire to his bedroom, in turn setting fire to the entire prison. Where does that leave us, other than Hell? For Lord Stingray and Alice, it leaves them at UltraPrison.

At open,it would seem as though the world has taken a turn from bad to “HOLY CRAP!” Lord Stingray and Alice are finishing up… not guarding the pod when they find themselves on the run from mutants and miscreants. Fortunately for them, Bruce, The Mistress, and Charise happen to be passing through on their way to a festival and pick them up to give them a lift back to the land from whence they came. Fembots have never been such a welcome sight.

One problem comes up on the ship, though, as Charise is increasingly worried about the fate of Jared. To help deal with the grief of potentially losing him, she has created grief cards that will help guide her through the process. It doesn’t look like much will help as they land in SuperHell and find that things Dante couldn’t have imagined are now taking place. Mutants and monsters galore, they accidentally find themselves back inside, where it resembles safe as only prisoners are left.

This also allows Lord Stingray an opportunity to capture the safe that started the whole ordeal, although it proves even harder without any real tools to handle the job. Meanwhile, Charise finds Jared’s body and begins moving towards Anger. In her rage, she manages to find the grief cabinet of jared’s office, which leads to bargaining with the now god-like Ash that rules the fire filled landscape.

Of them all, Alice seems the only one with a plan, grabbing a firehose that might be what it takes to save the jail, although she soon finds herself on an alter with her breast implants being removed from their warranty coverage.

Somehow, things begin to wrap up tidily after that. Charise decides to burn the cabinet, releasing Jared from his potential grave, Lord Stingray breaks open the safe, releasing his counterparts in the heist, and Ash helps the Warden see the error of his ways, releasing water, rather than fire, with a little help from his worst memories. Soon everyone’s sad thoughts help them cry their way to freedom as they return the SuperJail to what passes in this world for normal.

Overall, this is one chaotic episode that somehow manages to make sense, something Adult Swim shows are typically known for. The gore is back in buckets, so be prepared for what is sure to be another insane season of SuperJail. This certainly isn’t an episode to introduce someone to SuperJail, but if you have been waiting to see what happens after the end of last season, you won’t be disappointed.
