Benson is about to get an award for being on time, but then he says those magic words. Find out what Benson has to go through to get that award after the jump!

Spoilers Below

This picture means serious business is going down. But whenever serious business goes down, Benson gets screwed. Fortunately for Mordecai and Rigby, this was all Benson’s doing. Let’s take a look.

Benson and the gang, minus Mordecai and Rigby, are out celebrating Benson’s timeliness. He is getting a gold watch to celebrate being at work 1000 straight days without being late. Benson goes into detail about how he is ready, and the moral is “playing safe.” Muscle Man tells Benson that it’s not smart to celebrate right away, but Benson is steadfast. Mordecai and Rigby bring two test pilots, named Tango and Stash, over who are celebrating 1000 test missions. They’re invited to celebrate with the pilots over more wings. And Benson likey, Benson likey a lot! Skips and Pops feel like it’s a smart idea for Benson to eat himself into a food coma again. Of course, Benson says screw that. Skips says that sometimes people do regretful things on a belly full of wings. I can fully attest to that. I do weird things sometimes when I gorge on wings.

It’s six A.M., and Benson wakes up in what looks like the desert. He ate himself into a food coma, and of course, Benson blames Mordecai and Rigby. He finds a road with a pay phone, and calls the park. Pops picks up, and Benson wants to yell at the two for ruining his life, but they are nowhere to be found. No one knows what happened, and Benson asks Pops to get him, except he has no idea where he is. A cop comes by, and arrests Benson. This can never end well. He gets to the police station, and finds the pilots, and Mordecai and Rigby already arrested. Benson goes for a choke, but Mordecai actually remembers what happens.

Of course, Benson ate himself into a food coma, sort of. Benson is feeling down, because he’s being awarded for playing it safe, while these pilots do some serious business. They have the idea of Benson driving up in the Mach Infinity, which is a supersonic car Tango and Stash just tested. Benson wants to do it, but Mordecai and Rigby are worried. Things go wrong at the onset, and Benson ejects. He gets concussed, but the car kept going. Benson was stranded, but the pilots and, Mordecai and Rigby were arrested, even with the pilots’s government clearance cards. Pops then gets arrested, and they get hosed down. Benson can’t let go of blaming his employees, but the pilots talk him out of it. They conjure a plan involving hiding behind Pops’s head, luring the officer in.

Everyone pounces on him, and they escape. They make it out, and Benson only has an hour to get to the park. Pops’s car is too slow, but the pilots have the Mach Infinity. Benson pushes the Mach Infinity to its breaking point, and makes it back to the park…three months late. He goes to Maellard about the watch, but he won’t give it up. So, Benson hops back in the Mach Infinity, and goes in reverse, even though it can rip a hole in space and time. He ends up killing the Mach Infinity, but the sacrifice is worth it, because he makes it to the park on time. The celebration is short lived when wings are introduced again, because Benson ends the episode stranded in the middle of an ocean.

This was a serious, serious screw up for Benson. For once, everything that happened was all on Benson, and it was a fun watch. The dude who is known for playing it safe decides to throw that to the wayside so he can just crush life for a change. I actually like carefree Benson. As such, there was a lot going on here that you don’t normally see. Benson gets his own episode, and Mordecai and Rigby did nothing wrong.

After trying to do too much per episode, and shoehorning CJ into Margaret’s spot, everything found a new place in the show. The show is getting back to normal, complete with Mordecai beating up Rigby’s arm.

Error happened.
