Shorts Review: Alfred And Poe – “Talkin Trash”

In my everyday scouring of the Internet for the finest in animation I often find myself perplexed at what I see. There’s so much hatred, bigotry, and blatant anger in some of the animation that it’s sickening. Sometimes I need a pallet cleanser to really free me from the dark side of the Internet. Dare I say something cute even?

Alfred and Poe starts off this way with it’s almost Veggie Tales style of animation. The dialogue, of course, quickly changes this. When a turtle calls a toucan a pussy for not taking out the trash, I’m all in. Mind you, the language does get a bit old and I’m not quite sure why they bleep some words but not others. Thankfully the show doesn’t drag as much as the dialogue and the laughs provided are good enough to hold my attention. It may not be the dark side of the Internet, but it did carry me through my morning. If you’re ever looking for the perfect balance of childlike innocence and PG-13 language, look no further than Alfred and Poe.
