Shorts Review: Gravity Falls – TV Shorts 2
Spoilers Below
This time it is Grunkle Stan sitting down to watch television. Apparently Gravity Falls has some awful television shows.
The first show we see is Why You Ackin’ So Cray-Cray? It is presented as a sort of daytime talk show type thing. A large-chested woman walks past three strange people asking the first two “Why You Ackin’ So Cray-Cray?” By the time she reaches the third person, she refuses to say the catchphrase. When the audience shouts for her to say it, she replies with “I’m not your puppet!”
Switch to the second show – Teenz Talk. This would be the after-school special show. It features the Gravity Falls police force disguised as teenagers, telling teens not to give into peer pressure. Though the situation is completely ridiculous and not at all related to peer pressure. At the end, the actual teens show up to steal the police uniforms and car.
The Ducktective is the final show. A duck and a penguin are private detectives helping the police. I’m not really sure how they are helping the police though. The penguin throws up a whole fish in order to catch a thief but that is the closest they come to actually doing anything. Everything else is steeped in terrible bird jokes and drama.
Again, just like the previous shorts, this was shown internationally before it aired in the US. Italy got it back on April 3.
I wish there was more I could say about this one. It was rather awful. The funniest part of the entire show happened in Teenz Talk. Once the real teenagers drive off in the police car, the actual police jump into a kid’s motorized Jeep to try to catch them. Just the sight of them slowly rolling away made me seriously laugh out loud. But that is the only time I actually laughed during the whole two and a half minute episode. I hope that the next season of Gravity Falls starts soon. I don’t think I can take much more of this.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
