Shorts Review: Coponfilms Delivers Us “Hulk Plays Flappy Bird!”
Maybe I’m starting to lose my edge. I know I’m getting older. It was inevitable that I would transcend into the area of the old man and completely lose touch with modern gaming. The last game I purchased was Resident Evil 6 and I’ve downloaded zero games on my iPhone. So when I heard about this Flappy Bird game the first thought immediately went to “Oh great, another Angry Birds rip off.” Boy am I dumb. Turns out the ripping off goes much deeper than just Angry Birds. It basically looks like the water levels on Mario Bros. but without the water. And from the very little research I’ve done, it seems as if the game is all but impossible to defeat. You really need a cool temper to have any sort of chance to get close to the end of the game. This, of course, makes Hulk a perfect candidate to fail miserably.
I feel as if this short is pretty polarizing. On one hand the animation is bright, the sounds and voice acting are really nice, and the premise of the short is solid. But on the other hand, I feel as if a lot was left on the table here. 45 seconds is way too short for this idea. A little expansion on the subject could have helped this short greatly. If this were roughly 90 seconds or 2 minutes we could be looking at a much better short and, in turn, a much better score. SMASH!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
