Hulu sells off Japanese business to Nippon TV
According to Deadline.com, Hulu is selling off its Japanese business to Nippon TV in a better effort to focus on North American content like giving us more of The Awesomes. According to Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins:
“We have now reached a point in the growth of the business in Japan where we feel the best path forward is to sell the company to a strategic buyer,” Hopkins wrote, adding later, “Nippon TV will take the service to new heights, with the added benefit of allowing us to focus on our growing business here in the U.S.”
Hulu just wrapped its first season of Mother Up! this past Wednesday, check out our review of the finale here. The Awesomes are set to return for a second season sometime later this year (probably August 2014).
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
