Review: Regular Show ‘Portable Toilet’

Are we sold on CJ?

After a rousing game of ‘Would You Rather?’, CJ challenges Mordecai to eat a sandwich in a portable toilet. Mordecai and Rigby go through with the bet, but the duo gets trapped in the bathroom stall. CJ and Eileen eventually head off to get assistance, but of course the guys get all apprehensive and decide to knock over the ‘Spot’ from the inside. Muscle Man heads over and without knowing who was inside, calls in a chopper to lift the tumbled over stall in favor of another one. Rigby and Mordecai wake up airborne, and Muscle Man can’t get through customer service to call the chopper back. The chopper drops off the stall at a military base for target practice, and it just so happens the military has a new satellite laser to test out. CJ and Eileen jump into another portable toilet and they get lifted and dropped on the base just in time to rescue the guys from their toilet prison.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Regular Show review, but I gotta say, I’m not CRAZY about this CJ chick. I much preferred Margaret due to the fact that she was such a contrast with Mordecai in terms of personality that it was fun seeing the writers try and figure out how to put them together. That said, CJ is a bit more adventurous and vivacious, and that could be what these guys were going for, but I just don’t know if I’m sold. However, I am delighted to say the show is just as whacky and clever as ever, just not nearly as special as last season’s.
