Review: Crash and Bernstein ‘Action Zero’
Spoilers Below
Crash is usually talking smack to everyone about beating them at everything like wrestling and whatnot despite the fact that it’s pretty obvious that everyone just sort of lets him win. His ego gets so big that he has to appear on live TV and defeat Wyatt’s hero, a ridiculous action star named ‘Jake’.
Crash gets on TV and ‘beats’ Wyatt’s TV hero Jake in an arm-wrestling competition which certainly doesn’t help his ego. Wyatt eventually shows Crash that he typically lets the puppet win every time and Jake did the same. Wyatt convinces Cleo to have Amanda fake a stage dive so that Jake doesn’t look silly on TV and Crash doesn’t lose a contest like a chump. On the day of the contest, Jake ends up saving Pesto instead of Amanda of whom landed on the floor. Jake ends up tearing apart Crash literally limb from limb. Thankfully, the head of Crash fights back which causes his ego to be saved.
This episode was a little better than last night’s, but not by much. I think even on his worst day, Sam J. Jones never mailed it in as Flash Gordon to the extent of this Jake guy. I will say Amanda was pretty funny although her falling off the balcony was the fakest special effect I’ve seen since the film Jeepers Creepers where you could literally see the zipper on the monster’s costume. Standard premises all around, as the title of the episode hints this one had Zero Action.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
